The HSE Act and how ACC Works – In Everyday Language

7The HSE Act and how ACC Works – In Everyday Language

Aims of the training seminar

The aim is to explain in everyday language the requirements of the Health and Safety in Employment Act for general safety practitioners. Furthermore, the seminar explains how ACC works; how to approach and work with ACC.

Duration

1 Day

Short description

Health and Safety in Employment Act is often confusing and difficult to understand. This seminar will enable practitioners to understand the Act without focusing on case law (from a lawyer’s perspective). It addresses both what employers should do and the many urban myths surrounding the Act.

Dealing with ACC can be complex and the seminar will demystify ACC for the lay-man. Topics such as entitlements, return to work policies, case management and account management will be discussed. This will include tips and successful strategies to maximise ACC’s services.

Who should attend?

Safety practitioners and line managers.
